This continues an exploration of the emotional experience of immigration — specifically the sudden realization that you are made of your home, and even if you take it out of yourself, there is still a space left behind shaped exactly like it.

Here there is the constant presence of memories that knock you off your feet;
the desire to reconnect with
the past through elements
of the present; the pure feeling of loss; the refusal to move forward — and yet also the hope that once it becomes possible to grow even something small, to build at least an awkward little hut on the site of a once-whole past, new guests will begin to arrive.
Strange ones, unlike anyone before, but already interesting again.
And life will be able to go on.
